Product Description

Parrott Cannon
This metal, 5 1/2" toy cannon is a miniature replica of the larger Parrott Cannon used during the Battle of Antietam on September 17, 1862. The U.S. Army adopted the Parrott rifle as the first rifled artillery for the service in May of 1861. Named for their inventor, former army ordnance officer Robert Parker Parrott, these rifled guns were produced at his West Point Foundry in Cold Springs, New York, just across the Hudson River from the U.S. Military Academy.

It is available with a gold cast iron barrel.
