This image portrays the famous 2nd Irish Color of the 69th, which lists the many bloody battles fought by the "Sons of Erin" in defense of the Union. This flag was presented to the 69th the day following the Battle of Fredericksburg. The original was presented to President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and then donated to the people of Ireland.
